S. Skaggs, a pioneer of Oregon, died at her home in this city at 2 o'clock Thursday morning, March 22, 1917, aged about 75 years. The remains will be shipped to Eugene where they will probably be interred in the family lot at Pleasant Hill cemetery. Mrs. Skaggs crossed the plains with her parents when a girl in 1848 and was one of the first settlers of Lane county, who established homes in the vicinity of Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Skaggs is survived by her brother, T. G. Hendricks who until recently was the president of the First National bank of Eugene, another brother, A. M. Hendricks, and a sister, Mrs. F. P.
