Caleb Showers, aged 88 years, one of the very few local Civil war veterans, 
died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bert Rice at Beagle early Thursday 
morning after suffering but a few hours.
Mr. Showers was united in marriage to Lucia E. Coller, June 30, 1867, in 
Donners county, Ill., where they raised their family.
He is survived by his wife and four children, Orville J. Showers and Bessie 
He. Holzhouser of Olene, Ore., Mae L. Rice and Della E. Neighbors of Beagle.
The body is at the Conger Funeral parlors where funeral services are being 
planned and will be announced later.
