Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Wednesday, 9 Jun 1948, p. 9, c. 4 
Harlin Shanklin, 27, a resident of Portland for the past year and a half 
passed away at the Veterans’ hospital there Sunday. He was born at Weiser, 
Ida. On April 9, 1922 and was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Schuyler Shanklin, Jacksonville; two sisters, Mrs. K. E. 
McCullough, Haines, Ore., and Mrs. Clarence Malone, Drew, Ore., and three 
brothers, Fred, Baker, Eugene, Dre, and Jackie, Medford; his grandmother, Mrs. 
Estella Phipps, Unity, Ore. Funeral services will be conducted from the Perl 
Funeral home Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Meredith Groves officiating 
Interment will be in the Siskiyou Memorial park.
