Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Friday, 27 Apr 1917, p. 2, c. 4-5
William Sears, formerly a resident of Butte Falls, died at the home of his 
son, William, 222 North Ceneral [sic] Avenue, at 11 p.m. April 26, of 
paralysis and pneumonia. He was 76 years, 5 months and 8 days old, and was 
born in Moline, Ill., and had been a resident of Jackson county since 1910. He 
leaves a wife, Katherine Minerva, and three children who are William Sears of 
Medford, Chauncey B. Sears of Portland and Dr. Benj. L. Sears of Neverstill, 
Ore. Funeral services will be held at Perl's chapel Saturday at 3:30 p. m. 
Burial will be in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
