Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 25 Jun 1897, p. 3, c. 1
George Schumpf, who was generally known throughout the county, died at the 
family residence, in Jacksonville, on Sunday evening, aged fifty-seven years 
and ten months. He had been in [-?-] short time. A wife and three children 
survive him. Services were held at the Catholic church Tuesday, by Father 
Warren. Deceased was a member of Chester A. Arthur Post, G. A. R. of Medford, 
and the burial services were conducted by members of that post and the post at 
Central Point.
