Santerre, 59, died today at the V. A. Domiciliary, Camp White. Conger- Morris funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Monday, 31 August 1953 Services for Leo I. Santerre, 59, who died at Camp White Thursday, will be held in Camp White chapel Wednesday at 9 a.m. with Chaplain John Cumiskey officiating. Interment will be in Camp White cemetery. The remains will lie in state in Conger-Morris funeral home’s Gold room until time for the services. The deceased was born in Michigan, Aug. 4, 1894. He was a former third baseman for the Portland Beavers baseball team and was employed for a number of years at the Portland Labor temple. He was a veteran of World War I, serving from Aug. 14, 1918, to March 4, 1949, as a corporal. Company “I”, 12th Battalion, Replacement Training Center. He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include a brother, F. C., San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. L. Gingras, Phoenix, Ariz.; and twin daughters, Mrs. Nora Robinson and Mrs. Leonora Swanson, Houston, Tex.
