L. Sample passed away at 718 South Newtown street at 4:30 Sunday morning. She was born at Ridgeway, Ohio, Dec. 12, 1860. From Ohio they moved to Iowa in which state she was married at Cantril in February, 1883 to J. O. Sample, who survives her. For a short time they resided in Kansas, and in 1887 took a homestead in Colorado. After leaving that state they resided in Washington for about one year and came to Newberg, Ore., where they resided until 1906, when they came to Medford, where they made their home until 1918, when they went to Portland, and came back to Medford last October. Besides her bereaved husband, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. C. F> Murdock, and Mrs. V. A. Nelson, both of Woodburn, Ore. Mrs. C. A. Rinabarger, well known in Medford, is a twin sister. She also leaves a half brother, H. T. Bolen, in Arkansas. Funeral services were held at the residence at 2:00 p. m. today, Rev. J. R. Sasnett officiating. The remains will be forwarded this evening by the Conger Funeral Parlors to Portland for interment.
