He was in his 80th year. Mr. Rowe was born on the Peyton ranch in Sam's Valley on April 14, 1857. He was the eldest son of Joe and Martha Rowe, early Jackson county pioneers. Mr. Rowe is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gus Samuels of Medford, Mrs. B. F. Scroggins of Bend and Mrs. W. A. Wildrick of Portland; a son, J. Ray Rowe of Merrill, and three grandchildren. Mr. Rowe was widely known throughout southern Oregon, and has numerous friends who will mourn his death. Funeral services are to be held at the Perl chapel at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Interment will be in the Jacksonville cemetery.
