ROOT, 77, PIONEER, PASSES Olive V. Root, 77, pioneer resident of Jackson county, passed away at the home of her son, Henry B. Kilburn in Central Point early this morning after a continuous residence here for the last 72 years. She was born at Walla Walla, Wash., August 24, 1866 and came here with her parents when a child of six years. In her youth, she attended school at Table Rock. Her home was formerly in Medford, but for the last six years she had lived in Central Point. Mrs. Root was a member of the Church of Christ in Central Point. She leaves besides her husband, L. H. Root, three children, J. A. Kilburn, now in Hawaii; Henry B. Kilburn, Central Point and Mrs. Jack Hammel of Portland. Funeral services will be held in the Conger-Morris chapel at 2:30 Saturday with the Rev. Gilbert Cays officiating. Interment will be in Central Point cemetery.
