RODGERS, VETERAN, PASSES John C. Rodgers, known to friends as "Claude," passed away at the family home, 302 S. Riverside Ave., Wednesday morning. Mr. Rodgers was born at Beagle, Ore., on October 22, 1890. He spent his entire life in southern Oregon and had lived in Klamath county for the past 10 years. He had been employed in logging at Dead Indian for the past two months. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Iola Rodgers, and his father, John M. Rodgers, Talent, Ore.; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Reichstein, of Medford; two grandchildren, Billy and Jerry Reichstein; three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Marie Boardman, Talent, Ore.; Mrs. Grace Brown and Mrs. Edna Barker, Medford; James and Jesse Rodgers, Butte Falls. Mr. Rodgers served in World War I as a private of machine gun company, 160th regiment. He enlisted June 27, 1918, and was discharged April 12, 1919. He sailed for foreign service Aug. 8, 1918, and arrived at port on return to the U. S. on March 24, 1919. Funeral services will be conducted from Perl Funeral Home Saturday at 2 p.m., the Rev. W. A. Dawes, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Interment will take place in Medford I.O.O.F. cemetery.
