G. Rockfellow, and one of the pioneer and highly respected women of southern Oregon, died at San Diego, Cal., Tuesday morning. Rheumatism, from which she had long suffered, and heart failure, were given in the telegrams received in Ashland as the cause of her death. Mrs. Rockfellow was about 70 years of age and much of her life was spent in Jackson County, at the old Myer donation land claim, now the Neil ranch near Ashland, at Talent and in this city, where she resided for many years until she removed with her family to San Diego, in 1886, where she has since resided. She was born in Jefferson county, Ohio, moving with her parents to Iowa in 1843 and thence coming across the plains to Oregon with them in 1853.--Ashland Tidings.
