Reames. James R. Reames, who died at his farm home, near Phoenix, on Friday6, July 6, 1906, was born in Grayson county, Kentucky, in 1844. In 1852 he crossed the plains with his parents to Oregon, and in 1853 the family settle3d on the farm which afterward became the property of Mr. Reames and upon which he passed his life. Mr. Reames followed the mercantile business for several years, but in 1880 he returned to the home farm and devoted his energies and business knowledge to the successful tilling thereof. He was married in 1875 to Miss Alice Strong and to them six children were born, who, with his wife, still survive him. Mr. Reames was a man upright in his dealings, earnest in his convictions and a good citizen in every sense of the word. The funeral took place Sunday, interment being made in Phoenix cemetery. Rev. Robt. Ennis, of Jacksonville, officiated.
