Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Friday, 14 Dec 1917 p. 4, c. 5
Samuel P. Purdy died December 13, 1917 at the family home, 715 Park avenue, 
Medford, aged 67 years, 1 month and 24 days. The deceased had been a resident 
of this city for thirteen years. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife and six 
children, of which four are boys. There are also six grand children. Mr. Purdy 
was a resident of Oregon for 52 years. He was a member of the Masonic order, 
Weston lodge No. 65. Funeral announcement will be made later. The funeral will 
be held at Weeks & McGowan’s chapel Saturday at 10:30 o’clock, Rev. Hamilton 
officiating. Interment in Jacksonville cemetery under auspices of Medford 
Lodge No. 103 A. F. & A. M.
