Brooks, 131 Tripp street, where he has been ill from the effects of advanced age. Mr. Porter was born at Fowler, Ohio, May 5, 1843, being at the time of his death 81 years, 11 months, 25 days of age. He was of English descent, his parents being early New York state pioneers. >From his youth he had followed the sawmill business and had operated saw mills in the eastern, southern and western states. He was made a master Mason in Trumbull county, Ohio, was a member of the Christian church, and a resident of Warren, Ohio for many years. He was a kindly man and highly respected by all who knew him and leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss. He leaves three daughters, fifteen grand children and eighteen great grand children. The daughters are Mrs. Minnie A. Brooks, Medford, Mrs. Nellie Thomas, Folsom, New Mexico; Mrs. Mabel Brown, Merrill, Ore. The funeral service will be held at the Perl Funeral Home Saturday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. J. W. DeYoe officiating. Interment in Medford cemetery.
