Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Monday, 21 Jan 1924, p. 2, c. 5
Edwin Charles Newkirk passed away at 517 Beatty St., this city [Medford] early 
this morning after an illness of about two y ears. Valvular heart disease of 
the heart was given as the cause. Deceased was born in Whitman county, Wash., 
December 4, 1904. Aged 19 years. The family came to Jackson County from 
Clarkston, Wn., last November. The father passed away in 1912. He leaves 
besides his mother, Mrs. Bertha Evans, one half brother and one half sister. 
Remains are at the Conger Funeral parlors and arrangements will be announced 
later.
