Myers, at Central Point, Oregon, late Saturday night, after a brief illness due to heart trouble. Mr. Myers was born in Birmingham, Iowa, on Dec. 14, 1854, and when just a baby crossed the plains by team and covered wagon with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Myers. It took them two months to make the trip, and they encountered many hardships on the way. He was a fine old gentleman, and loved to tell about the early life in Oregon. He was able to be up and about until a few days before his death. He is survived by one son, Jacob Gordon Myers of Central Point; one daughter, Mrs. Addie Walker of Gold Hill, Ore., and one sister, Mrs. Laury Dias of Central Point; nine grandchildren, three great- grandsons and one great-granddaughter. One of his grandsons was reported missing in action on May 30, 1943, a member of the United States navy. Funeral services will be conducted from the Perl Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. D. E. Millard officiating. Interment will take place in the Central Point Cemetery, beside his wife, Margaret M. Myers, who passed away on January 14, 1938.
