Funeral service for Lawrence W. Messal, 58, of 1462 Orchard Home Drive, who 
died Saturday, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Perl Funeral Home. The 
Rev. Harvey C. Coovert, pastor Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate, assisted 
by the Medford Elks Lodge. Committal services will be private. 

Mr. Messal was born April 23, 1907, in Eagle Point, and spent his entire life 
in the Rogue Valley. He was a retired construction worker. 

He was a member of the Chehalis, Wash., Elks Lodge, Crater Garden Club and 
Rogue Valley Orchid Society. 

On March 9, 1948, in Grants Pass he was married to Gladys Seifert Stuart who 
survives. Additional survivors include two daughters, Linda Messal, at home; 
Mrs. Marcene Sandell, Riverside, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Judy Stuart, 
Jacksonville; one step-son, Jerry Stuart, Phoenix; one sister, Mrs. Neva 
Richards, Woodlawn, Wash.; and two grandchildren. 

Casket bearers will include Lester Marshall, Lester Bradshaw, Elmer Luschen, 
Dutch Cook, and Chuck Taylor. Friends who wish may make contributions to the 
Heart Fund, in care of the local postmaster.
