W. Frost and Norman Allen of the Apostolic Faith church officiating. Interment will be in Central Point cemetery. Active pall bearers will be Lester Marshall, Harold Zundell, John McConochie, Raphael Gardner, Golden Zundell and Merton Bradshaw. Honorary pall bearers will be William von der Hellen, Gordon Cox, William Holman, Oscar Hill, Frank Nygren and Harve Stanley. The deceased was born at Lake Creek, on the same farm where he died, on November 24, 1881, the son of the late William and Amelia Messal, pioneer residents of Jackson county. He has seen many changes in the county during his long residence. He was engaged in stock raising and was a member of the Apostolic Faith church. On June 24, 1906, at the old courthouse at Jacksonville, he was married to Emma Walch, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Lawrence, Eagle Point, and Lester, Lake Creek; a daughter, Mrs. Neva Richards, Woodland, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Rose Sommers, Oroville, Calif.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Marcene Sandall, Riverside, Calif.; and Linda Messal, Eagle Point, and a great-granddaughter, Janis Sandall.
