He was an old time resident of the Applegate country. McKEE, Adelbert, Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Saturday, 25 Sep 1920, p. 6 -- Adelbert McKee died at Sacred Heart hospital Sept. 23rd, aged 68 years, six months and eight days. Mr. McKee crossed the plains with his parents when he was 12 months old, and has been a resident of Jackson county since 1853, and a resident of the Applegate 18 years. He was born in Sullivan county, Missouri. He was a member of Weatonka Tribe No. 1, Improved Order of Redmen, Medford, Ore. He leaves his wife, Leila, two sons and five daughters, Adelbert McKee and Leonard McKee, Jacksonville, Ore., Mrs. Edna Phillips, Mrs. Verna Ruby, Mrs. Luella Dunnington, Mrs. Dorris Norris and Miss Dorothy McKee of Jacksonville, Ore. Mr. McKee was a kind and loving father and an ideal neighbor and was highly respected by all. Mr. McKee is also survived by three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Emma Higinbotham, Mrs. Emma Fredenburg, Mrs. Sarah Leonard, Geo. McKee, Amos McKee, John McKee. Funeral services will be held at the Logtown cemetery, Sunday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. The Redmen lodge will have charge of the services at the grave, assisted by Rev. Gammons.
