Marksbury, for many years a resident of Gold Hill and prominent in political affairs of Jackson county, died June 28 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Miller, at Halsey, Ore., from pneumonia. He was born in Kentucky. In 1884 he came to Oregon, settling in Gold Hill. In 1906 he moved to Eugene, and later to Cottage Grove. Mr. Marksbury was an Odd Fellow of long standing and also a member of the A.O.U.W. He leaves a widow and four children - George, a merchant in Cottage Grove; Ben, who left Friday for Fort McDowell; Orville, who lives in Washington, and Mrs. Miller, who conducts a millinery store in Halsey. Mr. Marksbury was 69 years old.
