Deceased lived in Cherryvale through childhood, going to Wellington, Kas., in early manhood, where he was engaged by the Santa Fe railroad for a number of years as fireman and later as engineer. Nov. 21, 1911, he was married to Laura E. Warden, and to this union were born three children, William J. age 12, Edner Wilma age 11, and Dean Wesley age 5, all of whom survive to mourn his loss. Other relatives are his mother, Mrs. Robert Martins, Wichita, Kans., two brothers, James E. of Kansas City and R. Davis in the navy, one sister, Mrs. Mildred Crowley of Denver. Deceased was a good husband, a kind father, dutiful son and a sympathetic friend, endearing himself to all who knew him. Mrs. W. J. Logan, Phoenix.
