V. Lippincott, was held from the family residence Monday afternoon. Rev. Father Berthlaume, of Jacksonville conducted the services. He paid a high tribute to the beautiful character of the deceased, and the sweetness and strength of her life. Just stepping into womanhood, just entering the threshold of what promised a useful and honored career, at the very entrance of that fair field for whose delights and glories all her past seemed to have been a designed preparation, inscrutable fate had ordained a pause. No one realized the tragic pathos more than she, yet when her feet touched the waters of the river beyond where lies that undiscovered land, the glance that sought inquiringly that other shore was a one that held no shade of fear, realizing that she was to be wafted to a more congenital clime, where the soul may blossom and bloom–not as in its sojourn here, buffeted by the cold winds of earth–but to bloom forever in the soft sunshine of a brighter sphere, surrounded by the pure and sweet fragrance of a higher life. At the conclusion of the services a large concourse of sorrowing friends paid a last tribute to her, after which the remains were taken to the I. O. O. F. Cemetery and laid to rest in the family vault.
