Grandpa Lewis, the aged father of Bob Lewis of Persist, died very suddenly 
Sunday night, December 9, at 1 o'clock, from old age. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis and 
family have the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement.

Additional Comments:
In "Jackson County Oregon Cemeteries", Vol. 1, an Edwin H. Lewis, b. 1 Feb 
1832, d. 10 Dec 1917, is listed as being buried in Persist. This may 
be "Grandpa" Lewis.
