Aged 67 years, 4 months, 20 days. Born at Wabash, Indiana, October 11, 1861. Her parents, George and Isabell Heckathorn, left Indiana when she was 14 years of age, in 1876, and arrived at Redding, Cal., before the railroad was completed. The family came to Jackson county by teams from Redding, Cal. Della Ann Heckathorn was married to John Franklin Lewis July 4, 1882, at Eagle Point, and to this union were born nine children. Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband, John F. Lewis, four daughters, Mrs. Jennie E. Riddell, Medford, Ore., Mrs. Christine Catey, Medford; Mrs. Bermuda Gitzen, Medford; Miss Fern Isabell Lewis, Eagle Point, Ore.; five sons, William, Thomas, George, Jerry and Harry Lewis, all of Eagle Point, Ore.; eight grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Simpkins, Hubbard, Ore., and Mrs. David Ball, Crescent City, Calif. Mrs. Lewis was a kindly and lovable character and a wonderful mother and wife. She will be greatly missed by a host of friends and her family. She was a member of the Methodist church. Funeral services will be held at the Perl Funeral Home Sunday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Raymond S. Rees officiating. Interment in Central Point cemetery.
