E. Land, one of the well known and highly respected citizens of this section, died at his home a few miles west of Medford, on the Granville Naylor farm, Tuesday morning of this week, from a complication of diseases. The news of his death was a surprise to all of his neighbors and acquaintances, as it was not known that he was seriously ill. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in this city Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Haberly, interment being made in the Odd Fellows cemetery. He leaves a wife and two small children, besides a number of other relatives and friends to mourn his death. He was about forty years of age.
