Alice Elvira LaFonte, a resident of Medford for the past 21 years, the family 
home being Route 1, passed away at her home on Thursday after a brief illness. 
Mrs. LaFonte was born at San Mateo, Calif, August 25, and celebrated her 65th 
birthday last Wednesday. A wonderful wife, mother and good neighbor, she 
leaves a host of friends in Jackson County to mourn her passing. She is 
survived by one son, by a former marriage, Thomas I. Williams of Coquille, 
Ore.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Dusenberry, Salinas, Calif.; Mrs. Sarah Esrey, 
Fresno, Calif.; Mrs. Dora Smith, Fowler, Calif.; and Mrs. Bertha Tilden, 
Susanville, Calif.; also three brothers, J. H. Keiffer, Hopland, Calif.; 
Maurice Keiffer, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Lewis Keiffer, Watsonville, Calif. 
Funeral services will be conducted from Perl Funeral home Monday at 2 p. m., 
the Rev. Fred Weatherford, pastor of the Nazarene church officiating. 
Interment will be in Phoenix cemetery.
