KNIGHTEN, Melissa (Vaughn), Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune,
Wednesday, Ashland, 7 Feb 1951 -- Funeral services for Melissa
Ellen Knighton, 81, who died in Ashland early Tuesday morning,
will be held Thursday, February 8, at 1:30 p.m. in Litwiller Funeral
home. Mrs. Knighton had lived in Ashland for 60 years.

Mrs. Knighton was born in Humboldt county, Calif. Dec. 4, 1869.
Her husband, Charles, preceded her in death. Survivors include a
daughter, Mrs. Lydia Jones and a son, Chester Knighton, both
Ashland; a brother, Nicholas Vaughn, Phoenix, three grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren.

The services will be conducted by the Rev. C. Wesley Brough and
interment will be in Mt. View cemetery.
