Mrs. Kline has been in failing health for several years. She was born at Reynolds, Ind., October 21, 1874. At the age of 18 she was married to James A. McLaughlin and to this union were born two children, Ralph McLaughlin of Chicago and Mrs. Paul R. Schuler of Medford. Mr. and Mrs. Kline came to Jackson County in 1906 where they have since resided and have a wide circle of friends. Mrs. Kline was a member of the auxiliary to the canton of the I. O. O. F. and the Rebekah lodge of this city, who will have charge of services at the grave. Besides her husband and children, she leaves three brothers and two sisters, Robert Eads, Harry and John Eads and Hazel Helton of Hammond, Ind., and Mrs. E. C. Konkle of Puyallup, Wash. Funeral services will be held at the Conger chapel at 2:00 p.m. Friday with Rev. D. E. Millard officiating. Interment will be in Medford cemetery. CARPENTER--Corvallis, Ore.--William H. Carpenter, member of the firm of Le Febvre & Carpenter, general agents of the California State Life Insurance company, with offices in Portland, died here on Easter Sunday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Clara A. Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter came to Corvallis a month ago to be with relatives after his health began to fail. He was a graduate of the school of engineering at the state college. He later was employed by the California highway commission, a position he held till two years ago, when he entered the insurance field. Mr. Carpenter was married August 29, 1929, to Matilda Sauer of Portland. Surviving him besides his widow and mother are two sisters, Mrs. Helen Myers of Corvallis and Mrs. Ivan Menke of Oregon City and three brothers, Roy, student at Oregon State college; Cyril, St. Joseph, Month.; Dee, Missoula, Mont. The body was sent to Portland, where funeral service and interment will be held. William H. Carpenter was a resident of Medford for two years, being employed at the J. H. Cochran insurance office, local representative of the Pacific Mutual. He only left the city last February to take his position with the California State at Portland. The first notice of his death was printed in the Mail Tribune a week ago but details were then lacking. His sudden passing came as a great shock to his many friends and business associates in Medford.
