Kent, which occurred at the family home Thursday, April 16, 1903, o[v]ershadowed the community with gloom, bringing heartfelt sorrow to all who knew and loved her. Deceased born in Polk county, Oregon, March 5th, 1858. She leaves a husband, five children and four step children, besides other near relatives to mourn her loss. She has only gone before, by her influence she still lives, she still speaks. Her life of good deeds has caused a ripple in the sea of humanity, which will roll on throughout time and into eternity's shoreless sea. Elder T. M. Jones spoke words of comfort to the sorrowing. She was a member of W. H. Harrison W. R. C., No. 27 and the Ladies and Knights of Security, which societies conducted the funeral services. The entire community sympathize with sorrowing ones in their great affliction.
