At the family residence on the Jacksonville road, at 12:30 o’clock, February 
16, 1917, of pneumonia, J. L. Hooker, aged 44 years, 5 months and 9 days. 
Native of Kansas. Came to Oregon in 1883 and to Medford 1893. He leaves a 
wife, Mrs. Ollie Hooker, and two children, W. C. and Violet Hooker, of 
Medford; a mother, Mrs. Jane Hooker, of Medford; three sisters, Mrs. H. A. 
Fredenburg, Medford; Mrs. C. O. Haines of Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. C. E. Nelson 
of Oakland, Cal.; three brothers, H. E., J. D. and W. A. Hooker, all of 
Medford. Funeral services will be held at the home of his sister, Mrs. H. A. 
Fredenburg, 904 West Tenth street, on Sunday, February 18, at 3 o’clock. Rev. 
J. C. Rollins will officiate. Friends are respectfully invited.
