The news was brought at daylight Tuesday morning by Ralph Newman. The lady had been ill but a few days and no danger was apprehended, so her relative and friends at this place did not know of her indisposition, making it more startling when word was received she had passed away. Ben Higinbotham, George Gray, Jack [Wr]isley and C. Higinbotham and families, of Derby, attended the funeral, which was at Central Point. Rev. Mr. Jones, of Medford, preached the discourse. The bereaved husband and children will spend some time with their relatives at this place. The deceased lady was a member of this community for seven or eight years, and was loved by all who knew her. Her sorrowing relatives and afflicted family have the sincere sympathy of the entire community.
