RACHEL HIGGINBOTHAM, NATIVE OF DOUGLAS, DIES

Rachel Anna Knotts Higginbotham, 76, member of a Douglas county pioneer
family, died March 15 and will be buried in the Rock Point cemetery, Gold
Hill, Monday, March 19. She was born Jan. 9, 1875 in Douglas county. She is
survived by a daughter, Mrs. George Crist, Santa Rosa, Calif.; two
grandsons, Roy Stilwell, Santa Rosa, and Wayne Hughes, Salem; a
granddaughter, Mrs. Richard Pargeter, Portland; three nieces, Mrs. Ed
Rhoten and Mrs. Floyd Pence, Jacksonville, Ore., and Mrs. Hazel Treshem,
Gold Hill; two nephews, William and Elmer Knotts, of Los Angeles, and four
great-grandchildren.
