Hauser, a pioneer of Oregon and an early resident of Jacksonville died very suddenly at her home on Oregon street Thursday night. Grandma Hauser lived alone just across the street from her grand children - heirs of her son the late Frank Krause. She spent the evening there returning home at nine o'clock. The next morning at eight o'clock her neighbors noticed a lamp still burning, but thought nothing strange of it, and an hour later a neighbor, Mrs. Caton, called and was shocked to find the lady sitting in a chair, dead. It is thought she died of heart failure as she had been troubled with it for years. She was past 72 years of age and had been a faithful member of the Presbyterian church for 26 years. She was of a kind, cheerful disposition, and there was not a home in the town that its doors were not open to her. Transcriber's note: First name obtained from Jacksonville Cemetery index.
