H. P. HARGRAVES [sic] FUNERAL TUESDAY IN CONGER CHAPEL Dr. Henry P. Hargrave who passed away at his home, 38 North Orange st., Saturday morning after an illness of the past three years, was born at Woodstock, Ontario, Canada, July 20, 1874. At an early age, he moved with his family to Winnipeg where in 1895 he graduated in medicine from the university of Manitoba. After receiving his degree, he went to San Francisco where he continued his studies at Cooper medical college. He then took up the practice of medicine in Phoenix, Oregon, in 1897 and in 1903 moved to Medford where he continued his practice until 1920. At that time he went to Berkeley, Calif. Where he resided until returning to Medford in 1933. During Dr. Hargrave's early career, he was health officer for Jackson County and was active in city affairs having served on the Medford city council for eight years. Fraternally, he was a member of Medford lodge A. F. & A. M., Woodmen of the World and Modern Woodmen of America. Besides his wife, Maude Hargrave of Medford, he leaves one daughter, Gertrude Piper of San Diego, Calif. Funeral services will be conducted at the Conger chapel at 2:30 Tuesday by the Rev. Louis C. Kirby. The remains will later be cremated.
