Following the war he returned to Tennessee and married a former schoolmate, embarking in the grocery business. During the rush to Colorado he and his wife went to that state, spending some time in the silver mines and later came to California and Oregon. He resided in Southern Oregon for 36 years and was a pioneer of the Kerby district. He leaves his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Hattie Boyker of Seattle and Mrs. Alice Ferrier of Salt Lake City, and also a grandson and a granddaughter.
