All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ********************************************************************************* Transcribed and formatted for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Elizabeth ************************************************************************ HECKATHORN, Isabell (Devinney), Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Monday, 14 July 1919 -- Isabell Heckathorn, a pioneer of the Rogue River valley, passed away at the home of her daughter in Rogue River, Ore., at 2:30 a.m. July 14, 1919, at the age of 85 years. She came to the U.S. from Ireland at the early age of four years, and landed in Baltimore, Md. She later moved to Indiana and from there came to Oregon with her husband and children, and settled in the Eagle Point district where she made her home until about two weeks ago when she went to Rogue River to visit her daughter, Mrs. Ida Meagerly, where she suffered a stroke of paralysis which caused her death. She leaves to mourn her loss four daughters, Mrs. Frank Lewis of Eagle Point, Ore., Mrs. Matilda Ball of Crescent City, Cal., Mrs. Jennie Simpkins of Hubbard, Ore., and Mrs. Ida Meagerly of Rogue River, Ore. Funeral services will be held at the grave in Central Point cemetery, Tuesday morning, July 15, 1910, at 11 a.m., Rev. Milton of Rogue River officiating.
