Griffith, the man who was paralyzed by falling from a wagon a month ago, died on Thursday night of last week. The funeral occurred on Saturday at the Central Point cemetery. Rev. Hawlett preached the funeral to a large gathering of relatives and friends. Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 23 Feb 1894, Eagle Point Eaglets, p. 4, c. 5: On last Thursday, as Charles Griffith was returning from Central Point he fell out of his wagon striking on his head, and was taken to the Eagle Hotel at Eagle Point, where he was cared for until morning. During the night he suffered a stroke of paralysis which effected [sic] him from head to foot. He had to be carried home on a litter, and at this date is no better.
