J. Grantham occurred at his home, one and a half miles northwest of Medford, on Friday last, April 2, 1897. He was taken down with pneumonia about ten days previous to his death and although he was in other respects stout and healthy he was unable to overcome the hold the disease had upon him and he passed away at 11:30 o'clock on the above date. He was about thirty years of age. The funeral took place at four o'clock Saturday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. Eli Fisher, pastor of the Christian Church. Mr. Grantham came here with his wife from Oklahoma about February 1st and soon after engaged in the milk business, having rented a farm near town. Mrs. Grantham, who is the daughter of Mrs. Carman, of this city, has the sympathy of many friends in her sad loss.
