Funeral services were held in the Christian church in this city Sunday afternoon, Rev. Hunter, of Ashland, officiating. Interment in I. O. O. F. cemetery. Mr. Gordon was one of the first settlers of Southern Oregon and it was he that built the first frame house in Jackson County, having shipped the material around Cape Horn. Mr. Gordon has engaged in farming during his long residence in this country and through his business integrity has accumulated a snug fortune which he divided among his heirs a short time before his death. He was a man, who, as a friend would sacrifice almost anything to accommodate one in need and as a business associate was honest and upright. His death, while not unexpected, has caused many expressions of regret among all who knew him.
