Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 4 Jan 1901, Eagle Point Eaglets, p. 5, c. 1 
Died–-25 Dec 1900, on Rogue river, north of Eagle Point, at the residence of 
Jeff Johnson, James Geary, son of Sam Geary, aged about 15 years. His death 
was very sudden, caused by congestion of the bowels.

Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 4 Jan 1901, City Happenings, p. 7, c. 4 James 
Lewis Geary, son of Sam’l Geary, died suddenly at the family home on Elk 
creek, on Christmas day, aged fifteen years, ten mos and sixteen days. 
Deceased was the idol of the household, a very bright, industrious young 
fellow, and his sudden demise has caused great grief in that before happy 
family. Heartfelt sympathy is earnestly expressed by neighbors and friends of 
this family.
