Charles A. Friend passed away suddenly Thursday evening. He had made his
home here for the past five years. 

He was born in Camas Valley near Roseburg, April 10, 1867, and spent his
entire life in Oregon. Besides his wife, Mrs. Addie Florence Friend, he
leaves five children: Mrs. Ida A. Branch, Eugene; Johnnie N. Friend,
Benicia, Calif.; Sylvia Marpory Luster, Medford; Leo E. Friend, Klamath
Falls; Vesta Mary Kaufman, San Francisco, and five grandchildren.

Services will be in the Conger-Morris chapel at 10 a.m. Monday with the
Rev. W. A. Dawes officiating. The remains will be transferred to the Ten
Mile Cemetery, Douglas county, for interment.
