(Willamette valley papers please copy). Thus again are we called upon to mourn the loss of one of advancing years, reminding us all that we are only mortal and that sooner or later we must all be prepared to meet the dread call and thankful should we be if we have fought as good a fight as the deceased and gained like her the commendation of our Savior, in the words "Well done thou good and faithful servant." Dorcas Basset was born in 1799, and 1818 was married at Cincinnati [Ohio] to Isaac Fredenburg. The family moved to Oregon in 1864. Her husband, six years her senior still survives and is a resident of Ontario county New York. He served during the war of 1812 in the New York Militia and is now a pensioner. Besides her husband, Mrs. Fredenburg leaves 9 children, 52 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren to mourn her loss. Rest in Peace.
