Several days before she ran a nail into her foot, resulting in blood poisoning, which cause her death. Deceased was about sixteen years of age. She was an estimable young lady and will be greatly missed from the circle of friends with whom she associated. The family has the sympathy of their many friends. Jacksonville (Oregon) Democratic Times, Thursday, September 25, 1902: Delpha Fredenburg, who resided in Big Butte precinct, ran a nail into her foot a short time ago and died from the effects thereof. Jacksonville (Oregon) Democratic Times, Thursday, October 2, 1902: Died at Big Butte, September 15, 1902, Delpha, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Fredenburg; aged 13 years, 11 months and 28 days. Her death was caused by blood poison, the effects of stepping on a nail. All was done to relieve her suffering that loving hands could do; but in vain.
