All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ********************************************************************************* Transcribed by Ron Adams and formatted for use in USGenWeb Archives by Elizabeth Corethers 17 Nov 2002 ********************************************************************************* BENJAMIN FRANKLIN FREDENBURG, Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, February 25, 1940: LONG TIME BUTTE FALLS RESIDENT TO LAST REWARD Benjamin Franklin Fredenburg, a resident of Butte Falls, Oregon for more than 60 years passed away at the Jacksonville Sanitarium at 2:40 p.m. on Saturday after an illness of the past several months. Mr. Fredenburg was born in Idaho, while his parents were crossing the plains by ox team in 1864. There were 54 wagons in the train, taking them several months to make the trip. They came straight through to Oregon, finally landing in the Grand Ronde valley near Brownsville in 1864. He came to southern Oregon when he was 11 years old, living here continuously since that time. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Letetia Graham at Jacksonville, Oregon on Jan. 10, 1899. Mrs. Fredenburg passed away in December, 1935. He is survived by three children, two daughters, Miss Ernestine Fredenburg of San Francisco, California and Mrs. Gertrude Greb of Antelope; one son Ted Fredenburg, of Butte Falls, Oregon. Also three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the church at Butte Falls, Oregon on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will take place in the Butte Falls cemetery.
