Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Fielder, widow of R. E. Fielder, who passed away in 1888, 
died at her home, 710 E. Main street, at 5:30 a. m. Thursday, Jan. 10. She was 
born in Saratoga county, New York, on Nov. 20, 1838, and was the youngest of 
eight children. For 32 years past she had been a resident of Medford, having 
come here from Coldwater, Mich. She was a cousin of Leland Stanford of 
California. For 60 years past Mrs. Fielder was a member of the Methodist 
church. She is survived by two daughters, the Misses Julia and Rose of this 
city. Funeral services will be held at the family home on East Main street 
Saturday at 10 a. m. Rev. Mr. Belknapp of the Central Point Methodist church, 
and her former pastor in Medford, will conduct the services. Burial will be in 
the Jacksonville cemetery.
