A. ELLIS Services for James A. Ellis, 69, who passed away suddenly Thursday afternoon, will be held in the Conger-Morris chapel [at] 2:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Delbert Daniels officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. "Pop" Ellis, as he was known to all his friends, was born in Wisconsin, Aug. 17, 1875. For the past 16 years he had lived in Griffin creek district. He leaves his widow, Mary Jane Ellis, and five children by a former marriage: Mrs. Ruby Gayle, San Francisco; Mrs. Mary Wallace, Fresno; Mrs. Opal Whittle, Ventura, Cal.; M/Sgt. James Ellis, with the army in England, and T/Sgt. Ernest Ellis, a prisoner of war in Germany. There are also six step-children: Mrs. Clara Larson, Wisconsin; Mrs. Winnie Juhnke, Medford; Mrs. Josephine McGowan, Jefferson; Howard Wells, New Pine Creek, Ore.; Clinton Wells, Medford, and Elmer Wells, Butte Falls. There are also 28 grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Marion Lineberger, and a brother, Ellis, both of Orange, Cal.
