Ellis, 67, passed away suddenly this morning in a local hospital. He was born in Walla Walla county, Washington, February 22, 1880. He went to Olympia, Wash., as a small boy and lived there for many years. He came here last February from Portland where he was a gate operator on the Interstate bridge for two years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Stella Jane Ellis; nine children, Mildred, Thelma, Erma, Ferol, La Verna, Ardath, all of Spokane; Norma, Montana; Mrs. Aileen Davis and Ralph Donald, Portland; three brothers, Harry, Olympia; Zelmon, Pomona, Cal.; Frank Ellis, Medford; a sister, Mrs. Alma Jennings, Winlock, Wash.; and seven grandchildren. Services will be held at the graveside in Siskiyou Memorial Park Tuesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Louis C. Kirby officiating. Arrangements are in care of Conger-Morris Funeral parlors.
