Conger-Morris funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Thursday, 6 Dec 1956, p. 15, c. 3: Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Edmondson, 82, of 854 West Second st., Medford, who died Wednesday, will be held in Conger-Morris chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Escil Hiser of the United Brethren church will officiate. Committal will be in Butte Falls cemetery. Mrs. Edmondson was born July 24, 1974, in Teagarden, Ind., a daughter of the late Matthias and Elizabeth Swihart. She came to the valley in 1908 from Wisconsin and homesteaded at Derby. On June 10, 1910, in Jacksonville, she was married to Lee Edmondson, who preceded her in death in 1937. She taught school for 40 years, many of whih were in rural schools of Jackson County. In 1931 she moved to Medford and was instrumental in the organization of the Southern Oregon Art association. She taught art for many years in her home. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Emogene Abbott, and son, William Edmondson, both of Butte Falls; two stepsons, Robert Edmondson and A. E. Edmondson, both of Butte Falls; two brothers, Dave Swihart, Rogue River, and Daniel, Eau Claire, Wis.; sister, Emma Zimmerman, Samona, Calif.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Gladys Wilson, preceded her in death in 1935.
