Dowd, 52, a resident of Medford for the last seven years, passed away in this city on Thursday evening following a year's illness. The deceased was a native of Iowa. Mr. Dowd was a farmer in the Sam's Valley district for a number of years later operating a gold mine on the Applegate. Besides numerous friends he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Syd Smith of Elgin, Kas., and Mrs. Arthur Hill of Ventura, Cal. One son, Mr. Gordon Dowd of Ojai, Cal. Also one sister, Mrs. Fanny Weaver of Mason City, Wash. Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Perl Funeral home will be announced later.
