W. Curry in this city last Sunday and all that was of life of his father, Mr. Thomas Curry, passed into that world of the unknown. Mr. Curry had been ill with dropsy since last January and for two months past death had been expected to enter that home but the vitality of the deceased held intact the one slender thread of life much longer than even those most dear and near of kin dared to hope for. Deceased was sixty-five years of age and had been a resident of Jackson County for many years and was over and always a faithful and honest citizen and one highly esteemed by all acquaintances. He leaves a wife, one son and one daughter. The funeral cortege left Medford at one o’clock p. m. Sunday, arriving at the Sams Valley cemetery at 6 p. m. when brief services were held at the grave, conducted by Rev. Edw. Gittins, who used the beautiful ritual services of the Church and addressed a few words of comfort to the bereaved ones left to mourn their loss. Many of the old neighbors and friends of the family were present, also quite a number from Medford were there to assist in the last tribute of respect and affection. A short biography of Mr. Curry is promised for these columns next week.
